Worship

Worship is central to life at HCC and a vibrant part of our identity. Our worship style is relevant and contemporary, fuelled by a passion for creativity in expression. Worship at our Sunday services is usually led by a band, but as well as the usual drums-bass-guitars-keyboards thing you'll sometimes hear a solo piano or a string quartet, or drum loops and laptops. Whatever the lineup, our passion is for everybody to meet with God and be changed by time in His presence.

As well as the weekly Sunday services, we love the big scale - bringing the whole church together along with worshippers from churches around the area in our once-a-term worship focused Big Celebrations

Worship is our natural response as people living lives in connection with God. The more we see God, the bigger our understanding and experience of who God is and what He has done, the greater our response in worship. We love to sing songs which express the greatness and wonder of God, open our eyes and hearts to him, and reflect our heart's response to him. As well as pulling in the best contemporary worship songs from around the globe (check out our latest New Songs), we love to refresh ancient hymns and we run a local songwriting collective to birth new songs from our personal journey in worshipping God.

Worship Team

Our worship team is headed up by Paul Rigby, assisted by Tim Hallas. We have a large team of worship leaders, singers and musicians engaged in worship at HCC, who lead worship at our Sunday services and special events.

Our musicians also play a leading role in the local music scene. You can catch many of them at the monthly live music event run by HCC at our town centre branch of Caffè Nero - go to HitchinLive for details.

We're always looking for new musicians and singers to join our worship team. You'll need a heart for worship, a passion for serving others and a good dose of musical skill. Our regular rehearsal night is currently Thursdays, and we meet regularly for training, teaching and to chill out together. If you're interested in getting involved, we'd love to get to know you and we hold auditions on an informal basis. Get in touch with  for more info.

Production Team

The Production Team, headed up by David Carter, is responsible for the "behind the scenes" creative technical roles for our services and events at HCC - supporting services with sound engineering, lighting, and projection needs. We place a high value on this stuff and it's an exciting place to be, in the thick of the action! We always need new people for this team, so get in touch with  to find out more.
