Family Care

At Hitchin Christian Centre we seek to provide focus and support to the family. Throughout each year we plan events and activities that seek to achieve this. These activities may be for the family as a whole (e.g. family fun days) or for the individual children or parent(s).

As well as providing practical help to families, we also run seminars to provide support and encouragement to families in the areas of Marriage Enrichment and Parenting skills. Enjoyable and thought-provoking pre-marriage counselling is offered to all those planning to be married. In addition to this, where they can, the pastoral team are able to provide on other practical areas including working life and finance.

Senior Citizens

Senior citizens are a very important part of our church family and are encouraged to get involved in all aspects of the church. There is a weekly care group which is held conveniently at Westmill Lawns, and a special evening service is held quarterly with the group members participating.

Events are organised throughout the year and these include Lunches, Afternoon Teas with musical entertainment and day trips.

Our senior citizens are also helped in areas such as shopping, cleaning, transport to and from church or the weekly meeting and transport and help with doctor or hospital appointments.

We also make a special effort to maintain regular contact through visiting either at home or in hospital - particularly during the cold winter months.
