Moldova is one of the poorest countries in Europe. Many people leave their homes in the country tucked in between Ukraine and Romania to find work in Moscow, Kiev or in the West in order to provide for their families who stay behind. Most of the time the children stay with their grand parents. Without any real perspective in life and no protection they are easy prey to human traffickers.
For almost 20 years the danish couple Charlotte and Johannes Petersen and their organization Pilgrims International have worked in Moldova to help the people with humanitarian needs. If you would like to get directly involved in this project you can contact Pilgrims International.
