The African Children's Choir
The African Children's Choir have blessed and encouraged many churches in the UK and had many successful concerts over the years. The children are a real blessing to all those who meet them.
If you have never heard the African Children's Choir before we promise you will have an unforgettable experience. The choir began in 1984, each year bringing new children from very difficult backgrounds from all over East and West Africa. They have toured the world bringing their unique message of hope and healing in the face of adversity, spreading the love of Christ and all the while raising funds for the children back home in Africa.
Money raised by the choir through donations has helped to establish and support schools in Uganda, Kenya, Rwanda, Nigeria, Ghana, Sudan & South Africa. Approximately 6000 children are being educated through these donations and many more have received food and medical aid. Many members of the first Choirs have obtained their degrees and are working as professionals and leaders in Africa. This year’s touring Choir will be from Uganda & Kenya.
Over the years, this Grammy-nominated choir has appeared on popular television and radio broadcasts in both the US and the UK. They have performed in Europe and recently had a very successful concert with the National Orchestra of Belgium. They have sung at the United Nations in New York, featured before 10,000 evangelists at a Billy Graham Conference. They have also appeared in concert with Cliff Richard, Ron Kenoly and performed before presidents, and dignitaries all over the world. In recent years choirs have taken part in Africa Live at the British Museum, Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, performed at the Royal Albert Hall Proms, & B.B.C Blue Peter.
The African Children’s Choir will be performing at HCC on Saturday 4th September and the evening runs from 7.30 to 10.30pm. Tickets can be purchased from the church office and cost £2 each.
