Steve Chalke
Sunday 16th May. HCC. Steve Chalke has rolled into town and there's a great sense of expectation in the congregation. The founder of Oasis Trust and active champion of Faithworks and Stop The Traffik, is a gifted speaker and he combines humour, heart and bucket-loads of enthusiasm and inspiration.
He has a wonderful gift for drawing you in, building his point and having you convinced, only to make a U-turn and hit you between the eyes with a killer point that challenges all your expectations! This Sunday is no exception...
Steve begins by unpacking the "jigsaw" of our Christian experience - "do we have the whole picture or are we throwing pieces together from a load of different puzzles...?" He takes us on a journey through the stages of our attitude towards our community and evangelism - from fear of 'the world', through 'kicking the gates of hell in with our spiritual boots' to actually loving those around us. Each one reaching one.
He leaves us with the challenge to take a chance and get engaged with our friends, neighbours, colleagues and everyone in our community. It's a great evening, full of inspiration, challenge and laughter - but don't take my word for it, check out the link to the sermons below:

Do you fancy writing something for the website? We’re always looking out for people to write about HCC events - the things we do both in church and out in the community. Why not give it a go? To find out more, have a chat with Paul Windo, or to find out more.….
