Hitchin Christian Centre

In May, a coach party from HCC headed up to Leicestershire for a Saturday full of worship, activities and fun. The Big Church Day Out brings churches from all over the UK to experience a festival of Christian unity and HCC organised a good old-fashioned "family outing" to take part.

The event's website described it as:- 

BigChurchDayOut is about people and faith, music and worship, activities, families, and just being together. There's something for everybody, from a nice cup of tea with a Chamber Orchestra to high-energy worship, from story telling to touch rugby, from bouncy castles to quiet prayer...it's all about being ‘church' together. Our aim is to encourage and inspire people to press in for all that God has called them to do, both locally and further afield. We also seek to provide a relaxed environment to introduce friends and family who have little or no experience of church.

But what did our HCC family members think of it?!

"The 'Big Church Day Out' was brilliant.  Lots to do and I felt it catered for all ages and tastes. We'd definitely go again."

"We enjoyed the day - thought it was well organised with lots to do.  We enjoyed looking in on the Kids activities and thought many of them were brilliant - creative, well organised etc. We thought it was great that there was so much teaching interspersed with the singing and that the young people were so 'engaged' and blessed. I also thought it was good to see that it wasn't just the old stagers that came but some on the edges of the church who also enjoyed it - and there were lots of interesting things that were not specifically Christian but just good fun - for the kids especially. We would consider going next year - it was all very pleasant and relaxing and a good day out..."

"We’d like to say a big thank you for organising this trip, despite the weather we all had a good time. The music was good and there were lots to do. I think the price and the venue was good and I would go again."
