The Kings Chamber Orchestra (KCO) are a London-based, professional chamber orchestra, formed twenty five years ago by award-winning cellist Gerard LeFeuvre. The KCO have produced 6 CDs and performed at venues ranging from summer festivals to local venues, as well as successful concerts at the Royal Albert Hall. The Orchestra have done great educational work – their much-loved "Teddy Concerts" go a long way to demystify classical music for younger audiences – and have staged a number of performances for charity.
The Kings Chamber Orchestra have performed at the HCC, on Bedford Road, for many years. The "family-friendly" Teddy Concert, called “Simply Teddy” starts at 3pm and tickets cost £5 (bring your teddy bears!!). The evening concert, called “Invitation to the Dance” begins at 7:30pm. Tickets for the evening are £12 for adults and £10 for children or senior citizens.
This ever-popular orchestra’s performances are sure to be sold-out quickly so make sure you secure your tickets from the HCC office. More information on these concerts is available by contacting the church office on 01462 442238 or emailing .
Formed in 1985 by Gerard Le Feuvre, and ranging in size from 9 to 60 players, the King's Chamber Orchestra (KCO) is an outstanding professional orchestra, who perform many times throughout the year in London, the Home Counties, and occasionally abroad. Originally performing as a symphony orchestra, regular concerts as a chamber orchestra began in the 90s to support the Christian charitable work of Youth With A Mission.
KCO's members are distinguished musicians, committed Christians, and friends whom Gerard has gathered together while freelancing with some of the finest orchestras in the country, and who share an interest in breaking down traditional walls for the sake of reaching a new generation.
The orchestra's enthusiasm and humour, and a unique ability to touch the public with improvisations and worship, has attracted large and often unprecedented audiences wherever it has regularly performed. During the last twenty years KCO has broadcast, recorded, and performed in a variety of venues ranging from the Royal Albert Hall to a number of more local venues in the "shires".
