If God heals why doesn't God heal amputees?

Q: If God heals why doesn't God heal amputees?

A: Thank you for this interesting question - no doubt raised due to the significant number of our soldiers coming back from the war in Afghanistan? I believe that God heals and His power is unlimited, therefore there is not a single physical problem that He cannot completely restore. That's my faith, because as a Christian, that what the Bible teaches.

My experience of this, not everyone that I pray for is healed. Why not? If I'm honest, I don't always understand why, and there are times when I contend with God over situations that I've prayed for, and nothing seems to happen. But it doesn't stop me from praying for people, because I know He can heal, because I have witnessed His healing power in people's lives.

I prayed for a crippled man, whose left leg was bent and twisted, and considerably shorter than the other leg. I watched that leg untwist itself and straighten out to the same left as the other. I have witnessed a lady with blindness in one eye, have her eyesight instantly restored! My own daughter was crippled and in a wheel chair for 6 months, and we were told by our doctor she would never walk again. The faith of my wife and I became so weak, we could no longer pray - but my church continued (we were not aware of this until later) 24 hours a day prayer for this period. Then one of the week-ends she came home - she did the impossible - she got out of the chair and walked. Why did God heal her, when there were many other just causes, when my faith disappeared? I don't know. But He did and He still does, in the authority of Jesus Name.

You've definitely caused me to think - I don't believe I've ever asked God to heal amputees - sadly because I've never met one - but I will today! God bless you and thank you for your question.
