If God did exist, what would you ask?
Spent an hour today lugging a huge sheet of MDF round the town centre. We wrote a big "If God did exist, what would you ask?" in the middle of the board and asked people to write their responses around it. We got a lot of blank looks, and "I can't think of anything" faces, which is interesting in itself, but here's a random selection of the questions people came up with:
- Why am I who I am?
- Why is evil allowed to exist?
- Why do people not treat everyone fairly when we are all designed as equals?
- Why do bad things happen to good people?
- Explain the string theory to me...
- Why do people get fat?
- Why did my friend die of cancer?
- Why do hangovers exist?
We'll be trying to answer some of these questions in our service in the Market Square this Sunday (28th June), so if you're around come down to the centre of Hitchin at 10:30am - see you there!
If you've got a similar questions you can ask them at The Alpha Course or Ask The Pastor.
