Ask the Pastor: Prayer Alters
Q: Should we have prayer altars in our homes to pray/worship to God?
A: Thanks very much for this question. Prayer – which is simply conversation with God – is an essential aspect of our walk with God. We need to find ways of connecting with God in prayer at home, work etc…in all aspects of our every day lives.
Some people may find it helpful to have a particular space in their home when they like to pray. Jesus spoke about the value of ‘hiding ourselves away’ in prayer so that we’re not distracted (Matthew 6:6). The most important thing though is not the physical location of where we pray, but instead our passion and heart to connect with God regularly – wherever and whenever.
God Bless,
Matt
