Leadership structure
The leadership of HCC is structured into three co-dependant groups, each perfoming a specific function whilst remaining in close connection with the others. For a look at who's who on our leadership team, go here.
1. Ministry Team
The ministry team is headed by our Senior Pastor, Tony Summefield, and directs the day-to-day function of the church. Responsibiity is divided into five key areas, and all ministries within the church fall into one of these areas:
Discipleship (Tony Summerfield): Spiritual growth of the church body - Sunday morning talks, small group study, mentoring, courses, leadership training etc
Worship & Creative (Paul Rigby): Worship, service structure, music & recording, marketing, website and online, design and print, photography, visual art and AV production
Care (Kate Middleton): Prayer, counselling, schools mentoring, specialist support, welcome team
Community (Matt Summerfield, Sharon Beck, Gareth Williamson): Youth, children, men, women, families, outreach
Global (Stephanie Smithson): Overseas projects and support
This team meets together formally once a month to catch up, plan and pray together.
2. Elders & Trustees Team
The Elders and trustees are accountable for overseeing the spiritual and legal responsibilities of the church. The Pastors and Elders meet together once a week. This group is responsible for pastoral issues and spiritual accountability and oversight.
3. Operations Team
This team is responsible for the day-to-day logistics and finances of the church, focusing on practical needs. The group includes the Facilities Magager (Della Jackson), the Treasurer (Gareth Rowlands) and the Deacons (headed by Ed Jarvis).
Examples of the sort of thing this group handles would be covering practical needs for services and events, managing building maintenance, insurance, health and safety, accounts etc.
The Operations Team meerts once a month where they spend some time studying the bible and praying together, before working together to cover the practical needs of the church.
