Sharon went out to live in Moldova for the 2nd time starting in August 2013. She has a heart for the poor and marginalised and has a particular affinity to women. More recently God has given her a vision to develop women’s refuges in Moldova. There are hundreds of vulnerable women and trafficking is high on the agenda – Moldova is the trafficking capital for Europe and currently there are 300,000 women missing from the country. To do all of this she is working alongside Pilgrim’s International representatives Charlotte & Johannes and the 5 Moldovans on their team. Sharon is invited to national conferences in Moldova to speak, and also to women’s groups across many churches. She has sown a model for women’s conferences to release women into their full potential for Christ. She is open to all that God is asking and is trusting Him to outwork His purposes in this precious and overlooked nation. God has not forgotten Moldova, she is a precious jewel to Him. During Sharon’s 1st 4-year stay in Moldova, she established a care home for the elderly and this currently has 19 residents, all female, living in one big happy family. They all have a story to tell – everyone has been in some way abandoned by their families.
